I feel sketchy

Yesterday morning I woke myself by coughing. Not a little baby cough. It was one of those that starts at the toes and hurtles your body into a convulsion robbing you of all the oxygen in your lungs ... zoinks. What the hell and where did it come from?  Needless to say, I went back to bed.  Rinse and repeat today.  I feel OK until the urge to cough comes along. Then, I know that relative OK-ness will be sent packing and I hack and gag like the filterless Lucky Strike chain smoking lady with the hole in her throat. Mmmm is that a hunk of lung I see? Oof! In totally unrelated news, here are two of my favorite sketches from shows no longer in production.

Ain't no sunshine

Image
In a quest to give the gloomy skies a shove off, I turned to music. Sometimes doing a happy dance in ones underpants can rid the soul of mental gray matter. While I don't have the powers of Mother Nature, my 'rain, rain go away!' dance has been known to work wonders. My dance recently saved a friend's garage sale from impending doom due to severe rain. When the Relay For Life was being threatened by a dismal day, I turned it around to complete blue sky and sunshine. For that one I put out a distress call online. So, I can't take all the credit for that one. The area weather has been overcast, rainy and thunderous (at times) for three days. Enough is enough! I can't take it. Sunshine is needed. Youtube is often a great resource because of the other suggestions given. I've disc overed a lot of artists with this process. This morning I sought out the tunage of GO WEST . You remember those guys, right? Cute lead singer (Peter Cox) with short hair and guita...

Rick Springfield equals spontaneous combustion

Image
Hot-cha-cha! I thought I was going to burst (some areas burst-ier than others). That man exudes such dynamic sexuality, I could swear by the time the concert ended I'd been impregnated by osmosis. Good giggily! He's white hot! Please allow me to objectify and testify! Woohoo girl fully engaged!! I had such an incredible night attending the Rick Springfield concert in Peoria, IL. The venue, Paradice Casino and Hotel, left little to be desired as far as its accommodations. They called it a ballroom, but it looked more like a conference room that had been converted. I complained to the security officer who seemed to take a keen interest in us. I n oticed the first two sections had comfy, cushioned chairs where as our section had plastic folding chairs. As if we were an afterthought. How rude! I have no idea how those chicks got tickets in the first two sections. My companions, Timi and Kelly were on the phone the second the lines opened and we only had the rear section to...

Silent Saturday

My oldest and dearest friend Tommy linked me to this. It made me ponder how often I've made a contact, but never followed up on it. The reasons vary, but most likely it is due to fear of rejection or, woefully, I've misinterpreted the intention. So, I just let it go and claim that fate had other plans. But what if failure and fear weren't factors? What would you do? I want to throw caution to the wind and let my sails take me to new horizons ... what say you?? A Thousand Words from Ted Chung on Vimeo .

Speechless

These words are the first thing that hit my ears this morning was the audio with this video. I was catching up on PLURK. Within a plurk by Miss Attitude asking for inspiration was this video. Topsurf had shared the famous "I HAVE A DREAM" speech by Martin Luther King Jr. in 1963. I encourage you to take in these words as we are on the thresh hold of a new day in American history.

Saturday Sizzle

I hope you all still find me adorable after viewing this one. Spur of the moment and unplanned seems to be the key element thus far in the video bloggery. I get a wild hair up my tuchus and turn on the cam. Something I learned while attempting to upload this via blogger's video doo-hickey -- vids can't be bigger than 100 MB and, in my case, no longer than 5 minites. Whoopsies! I babbled on a wee bit too long. So, I uploaded my very first video to youtube. It's set for private on the site, though. I'm not ready to get up in the faces of cynical, know-it-all, bratty brat youtubers. Have a great a great weekend!!

Who Wants To Live Forever

This is an open letter to all singers who think they can perform a Queen song: YOU CANNOT! Stop it. Please halt all delusions that you're good enough. You are not. No one in their right might attempts this song and actually believes they'll receive praise from anyone other than an inebriated Paul Abdul. If your name isn't George Michael, you cannot cover Queen. It's pure and simple. This is an abomination and blasphemous act thrust at the memory of Freddie Mercury and Queen and their fans. Anyone who is ignorant enough to try to sing Who Wants To live Forever was most likely not born prior to Freddie's death. If you appreciated his style and showmanship you'd know better. Cease and desist all further botched attempts to sing his works. Thank you. With that out of the way, I give you the master. The King of all front men. The genius that is Freddie Mercury and Queen. This is the official video for Who Wants to Live Forever. It is followed by a live clip of their...
