YOU'RE WELCOME! HAPPY THANKSGIVING NIGHTMARES ARE ON ME.

Moon over AP

Image
If you've kept up with my blog lately you'll know the moon affected me on New Year's Eve. It's as good of a reason to use as another, anyway. This morning I shuffled into my kitchen to get the elixir of life coffee brewing.  Curious if there had been additional snowfall while my brunette head bonded with the Egyptian cotton pillow case, I spied out my kitchen window. Photos were a must. For once, I was almost sad to see the sunrise.

I have received numerous additions to my photo play list. It's going to be phenomenal. I knew y'all wouldn't fail me. Some songs I have heard, but there are several that didn't ring a bell. When early in my life my dad advised me to surround myself with people who are fountains of information and more talented than I am, he was right! I've been listening to the unheard songs as they stream in either here or on Facebook. Some are catchy while others are heartbreaking. Those fit, too. Our lifetimes are filled with joy, as well as, sadness or memories of happier times. Last night friend and fellow blogger Angie Bailey recommended a song ( These Photographs ) by Joshua Radin . I was immediately hooked on his music. To be honest, whenever I saw that guy's name, I thought he was a former American Idol contestant booted early in one of the 8 seasons. Oops. There's no denying he's the prince of shmoopy and judging by the comments on his videos on you...

Make it snappy

Image
I've entered a photo contest. I do not proclaim to be a good or even mediocre photographer. My pics are taken on a cute, pink Sony Cybershot that I got on sale at Target. It suits my needs. So, please don't expect to see award winning snapshots. I'm just having a good time and it takes my mind off having a car with jacked up a/c. The sponsor of this scavenger hunt like photo contest is Eaglehawk . The rules were simple (thank God because I have a hard time following rules and instructions.) Here are the required items: Baseball, Flag, Corn, Dog, Cow, Train, Turtle, Out of Control, Pizza, Heat, House, Roses, Wheel, Jungle Gym, Squirrel and Bottle Mancub had to dig this out of his closet This was snapped while driving around a historic neighborhood Look ma! No hands. It's stuffed, but it's canine-like. This is the post mooing form of cow: Meatballs This reflects physical training ... if ever utilized. Cowabunga, Dude! Silver attacking an innocent ruler. Parenthetical Knockers

I love to snark. I love American Idol. I love Sean Daly's Pop Life blog. Put them all together .... I love to snark about American Idol on Sean Daly's Pop Life Blog. Participating on a blog that is part of a newspaper which is family friendly sets limitations on what you can write. Foul language isn't permitted. Dropping the f-bomb is a big no-no. Expletives in general are snagged by the censors aka the blog police. Some words that many people deem harmless, such as, slang for body parts are slammed down and beaten into submission. For what it's worth, I don't think a lot of people under the age of 21 frequent Sean's blog unless he's writing about his big brother like relationship with the Jonas Brothers. ::fist bump:: I believe it was last week -- it really seems like this season of Idol has dragged on much longer, but alas it's only two weeks in to a long assed journey till the crowning of season 8's most popular performer. Sorry, I'm easily d...

TGIF -- Thank God It's Freezing -- NOT!

Image
Wisconsin is getting battered with massive snow. Here in Kankakee we were pelted with freezing rain. I offer you proof from my own front door. When I first attempted to open my front door at 7:30 a.m., I realized the inch or so of ice had blocked me in. Thanks to Gary the Garden Gnome and his magic rock salt, I was successful in stepping out at 9:30 a.m. I'm actually a little sad because that was going to be my number one lame excuse for why I was unable to get to work. The bottom photos were snapped from my icy prison. That explains the raindrops you see. Frozen on the glass, mind you. When I was on the porch taking these photos in my pajamas, I heard branches falling in the distance. I nearly pooed myself when a top branch broke and fell from the willow tree that lumbers over the garage. Fortunately, it isn't a big branch and didn't hit the garage roof. My car is parked in there. Brainstorm! My garage probably won't open due to the ice build up. I may ge...

But you said you blogged me!!

Image
I work with people who rarely use the internet for things other than eBay, email and Idunnowhat. If I discuss my blog, blogs I read, plurk, myspace, etc... I get the melodious sound of crickets. I found this photo while searching for funny t-shirts. This hit me to the core, folks. I think I almost shed a tear. The bottom line is that I care. So, neener neener booger eater!

Sunday's Snapshot

Shhh, no. No. Don't say a word. Just sit back. Enjoy. Yeah, eye candy for all. sigh contentment.

Saturday Snapshot

Image
This is Royal Street in the Rain. Location: New Orleans. It's raining in Kankakee, Illinois. For some reason I am not upset by the lack of sunshine. I suppose it could be due to having to work. Rain drives the customers to the mall; customers who are willing to extend their financial limits in order to find refuge from rainy weather's blues. Upon viewing this photo I don't feel the blues. Even though the photographer probably heard such music being played somewhere on this narrow street. The bikes parked along the sidewalk reminds me of the numerous times my friends and I found ourselves caught in the rain. As kids, we'd stop, drop the two wheelers and seek shelter on someone's porch. It didn't seem to matter if we knew the residents or not. We'd wait for a break in the weather and commence to our childhood lallygagging ... finding the biggest puddle to ferociously peddle through. Nope. Summertime rain isn't pestering me today. I wish I had my blue and w...

Snapshot Sunday

This blog was in dire need of some levity. Discuss. Talk amongst yourselves. This discovery is from flickr.com. What provoked me to image Google apple bottoms ? The fact that I was told by a completely hetero female yesterday that I had a great @ss. Whoa! Whodathunkit? I knew I had a some junk in the trunk; bodunkadunk action, I never considered it to be great. So, while I take a big ol' bite out of that slice of flattery, you enjoy the photo.

"I'm a Bimbo Girl!"

Image
No, I'm not a bimbo. At least not by the current standards of bimbo. I'm a flirt. I do believe there is an enormous gap between being a bimbo and a flirt. If there's not; there should be. I was doing my daily ritual of Googling something. Anything. Tonight's choice was legs. However, I typo ed and typed in lets. And what did I spy with my little eye? The image you see to the right. Disturbing. Very. Apparently there is a legitimate (loosely used phrase) that encourages girls to explore their inner bimbo. Thanks Paris, LiLo, Kim, Britney, Cast of The Hills . You've successfully made it socially acceptable to be a hoo-er. Skanky. Ridiculous. And someone is profiting from the ignorance and stupidity. ABC News online reports that the primary users of this website are primarily teenagers, but as young as age 8. The report from March, 2008 states there are over 200,000 users. Excuse me while I go toss my dinner. No, I'm not practicing a trendy Hollywood C...

Put on your shoes and lace up your ... back?

Maybe I'm just a prude. Or perhaps I'm a wimp to pain, but I find this incredibly disturbing. So much that I found it necessary to share it with you.

She's got legs

Image
There are times I cater my blog subject to a photograph I find absolutely kick-ass. This is one of those times. I've not been secretive about my love of black and white photography. In my previous post about breasts I declare that I don't have jaw dropping gams. I used to joke that I my legs were perfect as long as they were in the air. Yes, it sounds quite scintillating to make such a claim. It actually stems from an observation I made during an aerobics class. We were instructed to be on our backs, legs up. From that position we had to raise our torso, twist at the waist and meet our elbow to the bent knee of the opposing leg. This photo made me remember that incident. Naturally, I wasn't wearing latex with stilettos. As I make my way toward my goal weight, I realize my legs are looking better. Power walking is trimming and shaping my calves. My thunderous thighs are thinner. I know because my pants drape from my fanny rather than hugging my speed skater thigh...

Fantastic Friday Photo Feature -- F U N K Y!

Image
I am such a goober for not remembering where I found this photo. I'm sure it was on Flicker. Kimberly Madsen Art & Design is the artiste. It's her favorite t-shirt peeking out from a black jacket. It find it totally bitchin' and need to snag the Holly Golightly vintage shirt. It's supremo delectable. This Consumer Report photo was found while perusing Google Images. The copyright information is at the bottom of the photo. Who thought CR could produce a framable piece of art? Hunter S. Thompson. You know, writer of " Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas ." Then, made into a movie starring Johnny Depp. This is a totally righteous colorized version of a black and white. Again, I have no idea on who's flicker account I found this gem . I was seeking out Vegas goodies. With any luck, I'll get there this summer. Granted, it won't be nearly as trippy and dangerous as that depicted in the above mentioned book. I am, however, reading it for inspiratio...

Saturday in Black and White

Image
I was doing a random search for black and white photos. I love the depth and texture of B & W photography. This truly cool photo drew me in immediately. It was posted on the flicker account of Jon Oakley . I'd happily enlarge this shot and put it on my son's bedroom wall. I don't think I need to say anything more.
