Just when you thought it was safe to return to the truly *cough* talented stage of American Idol, look who rears his fabulously coiffed head: S A N J A Y A! Sorry, he's not ready to be done with his 15 minutes of fame. Per my usual routine in the morning, I checked my emails. Amazon.com likes to give me free MP3s. Do they do that for you, too? More often than not I will take them up on their freebies. I have downloaded some great tracks and some that were more like the aural equivalent to watching paint dry. Sometimes the sample is the best part of the song. It's a risk one takes. It's similar to being all excited over "Don't Mess With the Zohan" based on the trailer. Then, you go and that 30 second trailer was the best parts of the movie. EEK! Today's spotlight freebie is a release from Sanjaya Malakar's CD " Dancing to the Music in my Head." I was in funkytown when I got home from work. It happens. I allow myself a little time to wallow. Then, it's time to move forward with a better outlook. I haven't been in a funk like that in quite awhile. Maybe it's my early 40s hormones. Maybe life just bitch slaps me from time to time and, instead of bobbing and weaving, I take it. I let it smack me in the kisser with nothing but a welt to prove it. Well, I screamed (to myself) I gotta get outta this place!! I ate a healthy salad and checked out Amazon.com for free downloads. New music always gives me a lift. FREE new music makes me a scant happier. Here's the flavor of happiness for me on this night. I dare your foot to not set to tappin'.

You know how it is when you hear a song and you want everybody and their brother to know about it. You love it; they should love it. This tune I am about to present to you is that song for me. After energetically burning my Sauconys on the walking path, I turned to my regular MP3s. My Amazon.com freebie gems. This song got me through squats and stretches.

Whenever I stumble across freebies, I like to share. Consider it part of my giving nature. Hoarding is only part of my nature if it happens to be designer shoes in my size at Payless BOGO prices. As I've stated before, I am a lover of Amazon.com. I frequently buy my MP3s from there because the price is typically less than iTunes , and is automatically added to my iTunes playlist. The freebie download on iTunes this week is a country song. And I'm not inclined to download country unless it's one of those novelty tunes like Kenny Chesney's "Shift Work" -- even if it's free. Unlike iTunes, Amazon has more than one free download available and it's for longer than a week. Like that pair of glorious 3 inch heel boots I bought for 90% off the retail price, it's worth it even if only used once. Last night I received the weekly newsletter from Amazon and boy, oh boy, was I thrilled. They had real weiners on the new freebie download list. Here is a list of ...
